Bowling?? / Movie??

Here is the situation...

One of my friend planned to go to bowling at Amoeba-Church street. Me, him and another girl were supposed to go bowling.. The girl told my friend that she will be there at Amoeba at around 2 PM. I went to my friends place from office to pick him up. We both had plans to go to a movie after that ( "The Grudge" )... So we decided to go to Forum first, get the tickets and then go to Amoeba.

Now what happened after that...

We went to the PVR tickets booking counter... My friend gets the list of movies and timings. He finds that there is "Charile and the chocolate factory" movie at 2:00PM (It was 1:40 PM then). Now he wants to go that also. So he decides to call the girl and find out if she has already left.. if not ask her to come join us to watch the movie. He tries calling her but no answer. He sends her a couple of messages, but no reply for that as well. Now what to do.. he decides that we will get the tickets for 2:00PM movie as well, as the girl failed to reply and hence ruling out going to amoeba!!!

Then after buying the tickets, went to have lunch. McDonalds was overflowing as usual, went to KFC which was moderately full. I took 2 veg burgers and my friend some nonveg stuff.. mid way throught the meal, my friend gets a call from the girl.. She is saying that she is near Amoeba now and asking us what time we will be there!! Alas she didnt know what had happened. My friend tells her the entire thing.. he tried reaching her, getting no reply and then we deciding to get the tickets for one more movie. That girl gets all pissed off!! She starts off like.. "You are ditching me now", "I never told I am not coming".. "Now what will i do for 2 hours alone", etc etc.. Because of all this my friend gets pissed off and he starts shouting inside KFC.. he is like "Why the hell didnt u pick the call", "Sorry, now we have taken the tickets already" etc etc.. I was feeling wierd and at the sametime couldnt help noticing the funny side of things..

I didnt want this mutual blaming to continue.. so asked my friend to cut the call and then told him that there were only 2 choices A and B. A, we chuck going to bowling, let her do whatever to pass time.. or B, chuck the movie, waste 200 bucks ticket money and go to Amoeba and meet her. My friend thinks for a while (Aleast I thought so.. he was quite for a minute.. or may be he took that much time to differentiate b/n the choices :P). After this silence he looks at me as if seeking my opinion. I had decided already that leaving her alone to spend 2 hours by herself was a bad idea.. so chuck the movie, waste the money and go to Amoeba. I told this to my friend and he too agreed. So we decided not to go to "Charlie and the chocolate factory" and go bowling instead :D.. And after bowling we came back to forum and watched "The Grudge"... It was ok.. scary.. silly.. with no good story..

Whatever it was, the decision taken felt right and also the money wasted seemed worth it when that girl felt really greatful that we ditched the movie even after buying the tickets :) ( Or I thought she was greatful... she actually offered to re imburse the ticket price.. but, we are not so cheap :D )

Hmm... correct me if I'm wrong, but at PVR, you can always sell off the tickets to someone else... even if the movie has already started. Did you try for that at all?

I've sold off spare tickets half an hour after the show started :-P

The modus operandi is pretty simple: Go to counter, request the dude that you have these two tickets extra, because some friends ditched you, and can't watch it, could you just try selling off to someone else if possible. I'll leave the tickets with you, and come and collect either the money or the tickets later.

This has never not worked for me. :)
